Jacki Roby

After Jacki's first gymnastics class at 5 she was hooked for life to moving. From gymnastics she transitioned to the field of dance, in which she still pursues a career today. Along this road, she encountered several injuries which lead her to Pilates for both injury rehabilitation and prevention. Jacki has been studying Pilates for the past six years with Master 2nd generation teacher Peter Vaillancourt, which resulted in a balanced and injury free body. Upon graduation from Marymount Manhattan College with a B.F.A. in Dance, Jacki delved more deeply into Pilates and Peter Vaillancourt took her on as a teacher at his NYC studio. In addition to teaching Pilates and dancing, she works as a Physiotherapist Assisstant at Duke Chiropractic. Working with these very talented doctors has offered a unique insight into the human body, particularly the spine, which helps her to target and improve postural imbalances. Her classes are desgined to engage the body in a balanced way, through which students can gain more awareness of their bodies.
